Goodcare Ashwagandha Churna, Baidyanath, 100 g.
Ashwagandha is the oldest calming, strengthening, and rejuvenating formula. Its name comes from two Sanskrit words "Ashva" - horse and "Gandha" - herb, as it endows "horse-like" vitality and sexual energy. Therefore, it is often used in male infertility and impotence.
Ashwagandha contains phytosterols, which are analogs of the sex hormone testosterone, so it is used to correct various sexual disorders in both men and women (in the female body, testosterone converts to estrogen under the influence of the enzyme aromatase). In addition, thanks to the alkaloid somniferin, this plant is an excellent tonic, adaptogen, and anti-stress agent. With age, due to metabolic disorders and aging of the endocrine, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems, the normal process of glucose oxidation is disrupted. Therefore, only 2 molecules of ATP (the main energy substrate of cells) are formed from one molecule of glucose. Somniferin shifts glucose oxidation to an aerobic pathway even in tissues experiencing hypoxia. As a result, 38 molecules of ATP are formed from one molecule of glucose. In addition, somniferin eliminates excess lactic and pyruvic acid, synthesizing glycogen from them in the liver and muscles, and enhances fat breakdown, using them as an additional source of energy. Ashwagandha eliminates chronic fatigue and tissue acidosis. Another important effect of somniferin is its ability to maintain serotonin and dopamine in the hypothalamus and other subcortical centers. This prevents excessive excitation and exhaustion of the nervous system.
Ashwagandha calms the mind, promotes restful sleep, and is one of the best plants for clarifying and nourishing the mind. It is used in cases of general weakness, chronic diseases, exhaustion, nervous fatigue, and is highly regarded in Ayurvedic medicine, similar to ginseng in Chinese medicine. It is the best rejuvenating plant, especially for muscles, bone marrow, and semen, as well as for individuals with a predominant Vata constitution. In such cases, it is taken with warm milk for its restorative effects.
Ashwagandha prevents premature onset of menopause and conditions such as Parkinsonism. Essentially, it slows down aging and activates anabolic processes.
